About Peer Review

Peer review is fundamental to scholarly publishing. Our reviewers provide independent, objective and constructive evaluations that assist the Editorial Board in making informed publication decisions while helping authors strengthen the quality, originality and academic contribution of their research.

Reviewer Responsibilities

• Evaluate manuscripts for originality, historical accuracy, methodological rigour and scholarly contribution.
• Provide constructive, evidence-based comments to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
• Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the journal's double-blind peer-review process.
• Complete reviews within the requested review period, normally 3–4 weeks.
• Declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation.
• Recommend acceptance, revision or rejection based solely on scholarly merit and publication standards.

Eligibility Criteria

• Postgraduate qualification (MA, MPhil or PhD) in History, Archaeology, Heritage Studies or a closely related discipline.
• Active involvement in historical or archaeological research and scholarly publishing.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more subject areas covered by the journal.
• Commitment to ethical, objective and timely peer review.
