The Ahom Kingdom established in Assam, Brahmaputra Valley, epitomises resistance to the imperial appetite of the Mughal Empire. This paper elaborately discusses the military strategies adopted by the Ahoms in case of their need for sustaining independence. Some areas include geographical advantage, tactics for guerrilla warfare, naval force strength, architectural defence, and resource mobilization strategy. Notable figures like Lachit Borphukan are highlighted for their strategic prowess and for their leadership skills. This type of investigation not only positions the Ahom resistance in a broader military and historical context but also serves to establish relevant comparisons to analogous resistance initiatives undertaken by other regional entities, thus yielding important implications for modern conflict studies.
